I know we all experience many heartfelt situations through the people we see in our daily lives ~ Over the past few months I have been surprised, sadden and inspired by a friend who has and is going through a critical time in her life .. I thought perhaps some uplifting thoughts and energy sent her way would help sustain and lift her spirits .. so that is why I share her story with you all ~
My friend is a beautiful soul in the prime of life ~ Someone who is always quick to smile and show friendship, who walks with a brisk pace as if not wanting to waste one minute of life ~ Well, much to everyone's surprise, she has a severe heart problem and her plan was to have her heart operation replacing a valve .. and be back on her feet in a few months ~
Things did not go as planned and we almost lost her in the operation room ..There were complications and the operation has severely damaged her heart even further .. Now she needs a heart transplant because of it and currently she is on a heart pump (which she has named "Bob") which she carries in a back pack or purse at all times ~
Already much love and compassion have been sent her way and I feel it has helped her greatly in coping with her circumstances ~ I am inspired by her strength and example of living each day to the fullest .. not feeling sorry but instead she told me she feels fortunate to be alive ~

1. New Year gift of life ~
An update on my friend ~ On New Year's day she received a heart transplant and is doing well ~
It is the cycle of life .. the life that was lost on the New Year gave her new life and hope (bless the donor and family) ~ Wonderful news and I just had to share it with you all as a follow up to her story .. a difficult life's journey but may this be a new beginning ~ Blessings ~
2. Seven Pounds
I'm glad to hear your friend has received a second chance. Try to watch a beautiful movie called "7 Pounds" with Will Smith. Oddly enough, I just watched it last night and it is very applicable to your post.
In the case of your friend, we can see how tragedy and fortuity are aspects of the same coin. A person died and she benefitted from the death. Some good will always spring forth from each calamity if viewed from the perspective of universal, rather than personal, consciousness. But what is good for one person may me detrimental to another. What may be good for once species may lead to the demise of another. This is why the sages are always neutral and never consumed with the unending cycles of worldly affairs.
3. Organ donation ~ cycles of life
I will certainly look for "7 Pounds" and also tell my heart transplant friend about this movie too, dear Sevara, and send her your well wishes too ~
I just now looked up the story line of "7 Pounds" on the web and you are so right! I can tell this movie will profoundly shake our emotions .. speaking to the core of life itself ~
